 Japan Muslim Association: Overview of Activities 

The Japan Muslim Association (JMA) is an organization dedicated to serving the Muslim community in Japan and promoting the spread, support, and exchange of Islamic culture within the country. Established in1953, JMA is the oldest Islamic organization in Japan and engages in activities aimed at fostering relationships with Muslims both domestically and internationally. 

 Key Activities of the Japan Muslim Association include: 

Promotion of Islamic Awareness and Understanding: JMA conducts enlightening activities and lectures to promote the understanding and spread of Islam within Japan. 

Provision of Prayer Facilities: JMA provides prayer facilities for its members and other Muslims,facilitating Friday prayers and educational activities related to Islam. 

Halal certification: Halal certification is carried out for products intended for export overseas. 

Social Welfare Activities: JMA engages in various social welfare activities, including disaster relief and poverty alleviation efforts. 

International Exchange: JMA promotes cultural and religious mutual understanding by facilitating exchanges with Muslims from around the world. 

The Japan Muslim Association contributes to the development of Islam in Japan through collaboration with Muslims both in Japan and abroad. Additionally, it provides support to Muslims living in Japan, aiming to deepen understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims.

The JMA Halal Certification Policy 

Fundamental Principle: Items forbidden in Islam (Haram) include alcohol (intoxicants), blood, carnivorous animals (excluding fish), carrion, animals not slaughtered in the name of Allah, pork, and its derivatives. Facilities: Maintain Halal identity from start to finish. Supply Chain: Apply the fundamental principles of Halal at each stage of production, sanitation, and warehousing & logistics, ensuring that no elements of Haram are included or that Halal raw materials are not contaminated with Haram materials.

Please note that complaints against certification companies by third parties should be directed to the certification company itself.

In some cases, confidentiality agreements may limit our ability to respond. 

Objections: Related to Halal certification activities 

Please note that we do not accept objections from entities other than certification companies. 

2. Methods of Submitting Opinions, Complaints, and Objections 

Please submit your opinions, complaints, and objections in writing via email or mail. We do not accept submissions over the phone. Send your submissions to jma@ac.auone-net.jp or info@shariah-inst.com, or mail them to the following addresses: 

For JMA: Address: 3-17-23 Higashi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo 141-0022, Japan 

For TSRI: Address: 1-7-1 Otsuka, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 112-0012, Japan 

Include the following information in your submission: 

Your contact details: Your name (or company name), affiliation, phone number, email address, etc. 

Details of the organization in question: Name of the organization, date of occurrence, location of occurrence 

Contents of your opinion, complaint, or objection 

Once we receive your submission and verify the legitimacy of the content, we will formally acknowledge it. If your submission is not accepted, it will be declined. We will provide a response within 30 business days from the date of acceptance. 

Please note:Any personal information received will not be disclosed without permission. 

However, during the review process, there may be cases where individual identification is necessary, and we request your understanding in such cases.
